1970 25 Cesar Tovar

| Cesar Tovar |
Tovar was a good player for the Twins for a number of years. He came up big in 1970 with outstanding numbers in runs, hits, doubles, triples and a 300 batting average, as the Twins returned to the playoffs for the second year in a row. Billy Martin's biography ("Flawed Genius") discusses Martin's time with the Twins (ending after 1969), bur fails to mention Tovar. Tovar has been overshadowed in history by his more famous teammates from that (and other) year(s) - Rod Carew, Tony Oliva, Harmon Killebrew, Jim Kaat, Bert Blyleven, Luis Tiant, etc.
He played on four PCL teams, including Minnesota's Denver affiliate - the Denver Bears. They finished second in the PCL's East Division that year.
