This card was Bob Christian's last.  He batted 15 times in 1970. 1970 was also his last season.

He was hatless despite being purchased by the White Sox from Detroit on September 30, 1968.  The hatless status results probably from a combination of spending so much of 1969 with the Tuscon Toros (in their first year with the PCL and their first year as a White Sox affiliate) and the players' Topps strike of 1968 and 1969. 

The other consequence of leaving Detroit in September 1968 was that he missed any chance he might have had of playing in the World Series. He was probably not eligible anyway.
